Recently many news sources carried the story of a discovery of a tomb in Jerusalem identified as belonging to Jesus of Nazareth. Inside the tomb were bones held to be the actual bones of Jesus. But there is another side of the story which was not reported. It was this; The claim is not new. In fact there are many tombs in Jerusalem inscribed with the name Jesus. The name "Jesus" was a very common name among Jews 2000 years ago. The news story was really nothing new at all, but a cheap trick to grab headlines
Christians around the world are not looking for the bones of Jesus of Nazareth. We are certian that He did indeed rise from the dead and ascend into heaven just as the scriptures report. It is a fact of history. We confess with confidence, " I know my Redeemer lives!"
